Utillian 421 - Vape Review
Not entry level. Not top of the line. The Utillian 421 falls nicely in the middle.
Built on the simplicity and convenience of the original Utillian 420, the 421 adds a few improvements to make your vaping experience even better.
The familiar flask shape and textured surface make it easy to grip. The glass tube is removable for easy cleaning. It also uses the same ceramic chamber as the 420, as well as standard micro USB charging.
But that’s where the similarity ends.
What’s the Difference?
The biggest issue with the 420 was the light cloud production. In order to create a device that provides a more powerful vaping experience, Utillian added an adjustable airflow, a larger battery and two more temperature settings.
Simple & Intuitive
The 421 is extremely simple to use. Unscrew the mouthpiece and load it with about a third of a gram of ground material.
Click the power button five times quickly to turn it on. There are six temperature presets: 180, 190, 200, 210, 220 and 230 degrees celsius. Simply hold the button to cycle through them.
When you turn it on, the device shows the battery life and both the preset temperature and the current temperature as it warms up. Once it has reached the preset temperature, draw on the glass tube and inhale.
To adjust the airflow, simply turn the dial on the bottom of the device.
When you’re done vaping, click the power button 5 times quickly to turn the device off. The device will also automatically shut itself off after 10 minutes, as a safety precaution.
The battery in the 421 is 2300 maH - compared with the 420’s 1700 maH - and will last up to an hour of use, making this a perfect vape for outings or multiple sessions throughout the day.
When you combine the adjustable airflow with increased power and higher temperature, you get a budget vaporizer with some great features - features not usually found on a dry herb vape at this price point.
What Do You Get?
In addition to the 421 and its glass mouthpiece, there’s also a rubber cover for the mouthpiece when it gets hot - handy for heavier users. Warranty card - Utillian backs the 421 with a 1 year warranty. There’s also an instruction book, a USB Charging cable, a tool for cleaning and packing and 5 spare screens.
Incidentally, the screens can also be cleaned with some isopropyl alcohol, so there’s no need to constantly replace them when they get gummed up. Just remove the screen, drop it in a shot-glass with a bit of isopropyl alcohol, and the resin cleans off quite easily
Is It Any Good?
Overall, the 421 produces good flavor with decent cloud production. There are enough temperature choices to please most users, and the increased power delivers a solid vaping experience.
Although considered a “budget device” the Utillian 421 has features usually only found on higher-end vaporizers. For the price point, you really can’t go wrong. Six temperature presets, adjustable airflow, an hour of use, and backed by a one year warranty, the Utillian 421 is an excellent dry herb vaporizer.
