Green Crack - Strain Review

With a name like Green Crack, you might wonder what goes into this potent waker-upper, but rest assured, this is pure Mama Nature.

Created by breeding Skunk #1 with itself, the name was given to it by Snoop Dog, and it stuck. Some people, concerned with the stigma behind the name, have taken to calling it Green Cush (with a 'C') instead.

Green Crack, Topped Once

Whatever you call it, at 65% sativa and up to 24% THC content, Green Crack is great for picking you up and getting you going. Also good for handling stress, anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, fatigue and pain, this is definitely a great daytime smoke.

The high from Green Crack is typically cerebral, with a nice boost of energy and an increased creativity to help you get active.

The biggest thing to look out for with this strain is dry mouth, so keep lots of water handy. Dry eyes, dizziness and paranoia can also occur, but not as often, nor to the same extent.

Green Crack buds are quite dense, pale green with orange hairs. The flavour is sweet, spicy, citrus, and earthy. The flowers produce a very strong pungent smell, with earthy and spicy notes very much akin to pumpkin. In fact, when I harvested mine, my entire grow room smelled like pumpkins being carved for Halloween.

Grow Y'Own

For those interested in growing Green Crack, it's quite forgiving as long as you keep the pH in range. As a sativa dominant, it does have a tendency to grow tall, so make sure you flip her before she gets too crazy or she'll fill your grow space and then some.

I grow my plants with many main stocks and I usually move Green Crack into the flowering tent once each main is about a foot tall. Once the stretch is complete, they usually reach closer to three feet.

Green Crack almost ready for harvest

Flowering time is around 7 to 9 weeks. By the time harvest comes around the buds can get quite large, and are usually coated in glistening trichomes. Be sure to flush with straight pH'd water for two weeks prior to harvest. After hanging for 5 to 7 days, it's also a good idea to cure well for two to three weeks for full flavour and a nice smooth smoke.
